WELSH BOAT SHOW PRESS RELEASE
The 2009 Welsh Boat Show Postponed Until 2010
After closely monitoring the Marine Economic Climate at the end of last year and beginning of this year and how other Boat Shows have faired the Economic Storm, the Welsh Boat Show Team has had a very difficult decision to make to ensure the future of the Welsh Boat Show and the success
of many of its exhibitors.
While wishing whole-heartedly to have put on this show, the team realises that it will be adding demands to its
Exhibitor's resources to be at this year's Show. As we're all aware there are many Boat Shows throughout Europe and in fact Worldwide that have been cancelled this year along with many Marine companies having to make staffing cut-backs and reducing production outputs from small companies up to the largest companies, there is no barrier of who is affected by the present climate.
Ever mindful of wishing to put on a successful show for a 2009, we do feel that we would not be able to deliver the strong healthy sales that our exhibitors enjoyed at last year's show. Therefore we are putting all our resources into making 2010 a more rewarding and buoyant show for both exhibitors and visitors.
We are therefore putting our full support behind helping a local Marine Company to help fill the gap in this year's marine calendar 2nd - 4th May 2009 with an Open Weekend where any existing exhibitor of the Welsh Boat Show can exhibit FREE OF CHARGE at Quadra Boats Open Weekend at their Neyland Boatyard and Neyland Marina.
The Open Weekend held on 2nd - 4th May 2009 will be FREE to Visitors and Exhibitors alike.
The weekend will include many Makes and Models of Boats on display on and off the water.
Companies like Picton Marine, Cambrian Boats & Cahoon Watersports will be in attendance & represented, you will see an array of Clothing, Knee Boarding accessories, Outboard Engines etc.
Quadra Boats will be offering a Taster Session whereby you book a FREE half an hour Driving Experience Session and should you wish to book a RYA Course you will be entitled to a 10% discount if booked at the Open Weekend.

Many people have said thank you and ‘well done’ for such a professional and successful 2007 Show, and we wish to thank you all for your kind comments.
The Welsh Boat Show Management Team and many of our valued exhibitors think the choice of date and venue is a very important factor in making a Boat Show in Wales a great success. This has been proven with the Welsh Boat Show 2007, that being held on the first Bank Holiday weekend in May is perfectly timed at the start of the boating season and as with 2007, is normally a drier and a relatively calm month compared to the poor weather and heavy rain that we all had to bare in June and July 2007.
Our venue “The United Counties Showground”, Carmarthen is central to the whole of the Welsh boating and leisure fraternity and has been specially designed to hold events such as the Welsh Boat Show.
The venue is accessed via a slip road off the A40 dual carriageway and features approximately 4 miles of level tarmac access roads providing excellent access to parking areas within close proximity to the main exhibition arena and linked further by level tarmac access roads to marquee food and product specific exhibition halls.
For the second year running the Welsh Boat Show 2008 is expecting thousands of visitors to decend on Carmarthen for an event which is held over a 3 day Bank Holiday weekend. At the 2007 show many hundreds of craft were sold with equally the same amount of orders being taken for after show sales. This year we have made many improvements and as a result, we have seen a large increase in the amount of exhibitors booking space, with many leading international brand names, and visitors booking advance tickets.
This early in the season we are also being advised by visitors of their interest and intentions to buy vessels at this year’s event.

statement of support from
